holidayz
Just got back from spending the weekend in Miami, sorry I've been MIA (pun intended) on the posting. Stayed in a killer suite at the W South Beach with my little mini-me sister babe, Adria. Ran around South Beach, caught a few rays and ate the best avocados of my life. It was the perfect way to celebrate the end of another intense semester. More photos up soon.

The Christmas candy has been on display in drugstores across America for the past month, so what better to go with your red and green m&m's than a killer holiday edit?! (If you answered "nothing," you get a gold star.) I did all the exhausting world wide web searching for you and, painfully, whittled it down to sixteen must haves/must gives. I give you the ultimate gift guide for all the super cool and deserving babes in your life. Also, my mailing address is available upon request in case...you know...wanna thank me/spread the holiday cheer or something. Kidding. (That's a lie.)

The Goods...
I spent the past five days in my favorite city for meetings and adventures galore. My refusal to wear pants, instead opting for tights/skirt/boots combo, proved for a chilly long weekend. Even my iPhone committed suicide, while fully charged, from the cold. Ugh, technology. Only got lost once (nighttime... Chinatown...heeled booties..don't ask,) didn't get sick, shopping shopping shopping, made it to all of my meetings and the only physical damage I left with involves severely windburned lips. All in all, a very successful trip. I always forget how much I love New York. Now excuse me while I plan my next trip back A$AP.

In case you didn't get the memo, it's Halloween. This means you either, A. have the perfect costume that is equal parts witty/sexy/funny, OR B. consider animal ears "dressing up." Since category A is about as realistic as men in romance novels, here is an alternative option for all you plan B-er's. Last minute costume sans-cat ears? One word, vamp. Yeah, I know it's not exactly original but I promise it's a million times better than being yet another "sexy" kitten/bear/koala/any other animal. Oh and guess what? You already have the costume. High waisted black skinnies, a black tank top, your favorite leather jacket and the most painful black stilettos you own. The key to this costume? A dark blood-stained lip. Pair the serious lip with mega contour and viola! Back from the dead with a vengeance and a thirst for man-candy blood. Bonus points for grabbing a pair of those legit-looking attachable fangs en route. Who knows, with all the double takes you just might start rocking this look in the daylight. Happy Halloween!

Yesterday was Independence day for my fellow USA folks and *collective sigh* dressing "festive" has come to mean wearing red, white and blue in the form of a bikini and cutoffs, sparklers in hand. Well I'm happy to inform you no flag bikinis were used in the making of this post, cause you know, *two chainz whisper* I'm different, yeah I'm different. I played in a minty fresh one piece from American Apparel with my favorite thrifted mom jeans and wore my AMAZING one of a kind Howlite Bullet Necklace from Random & Beautiful. I had been on the hunt for a sweet bullet necklace for a while so when I stumbled onto R&B's Tumblr I had to send a love note. A few emails later and look what is now on my neck! Definitely a must have necklace that looks super bad ass wore alone or layered with other delicate chains. Oh and did I mention it's on sale right now for fifteen bucks?! You're welcome.
Hope YOU had a fun and safe Fourth!!

HUGE thank you to Kimberly for hooking me up with the beautiful necklaces!
Memorial day marked the unofficial start of summer this past weekend. Fireworks, ice pops and watermelon abounded along with a seemingly endless variety of flag bikinis. In my own version of getting into "the patriotic spirit" I whipped out my favorite Blu Life striped racerback dress (previously seen in "westside till I die") from one of my favorite shops ever, Planet Blue on Abbot Kinney. What better way to American-a up my stripes than with the perfect denim button down?! (get it here) The shirt looks cool tied around your waist in the hot sun and doubles as the perfect light layer for post sunset breezes. Since I can't seem to take my favorite hat off...I let it add some cool-girl vibes to this look. Hope you had an amazing long weekend!

My favorite Levi's denim jacket again?? I'm obsessed, okay. Sorry I'm not sorry. This weekend required a look that was a little more than jeans and tee combo for my little brother's graduation ceremony so I opted for a take on one of my favorite looks (seen previously here.) A white Equipment blouse and faux leather mini skirt from ZARA gets a dose of casual cool with my Levi's jacket (also here) thrown on top. Pushed the sleeves up on both the blouse and jacket as per usual. I've also become quite obsessed with my delicate gold sale-section score necklace from Urban Outfitters (five bucks what?!), even though I've been swearing up and down "I'm not a gold girl." Sprayed some dry shampoo at my roots for volume and quickly ran a straightening iron through my hair to get the bedhead look. As far as makeup goes I did the usual routine: a touch of Bobbi Brown foundation stick, lip balm and a few swipes of mascara. Hope everyone had an amazing weekend and shout out to my awesome little brother for graduating!

I love LA...Downtown is rad, West Hollywood is fun, Mid-City has good shopping but there's just something about the west side that makes me feel at home. Maybe it's the chill, laid-back vibe or the fact that the beach is walking distance...but that's what everyone says. Who am I kidding...I love the west side because I could unapologetic-ally rock that crochet halter my grandmother made me when I was six (pictures when I get the guts to do it.) This past week I spent a lot of time on the west side, especially on Abbot Kinney. Mainly chasing down my latest obsession, JuiceBoxWhat?! A food  juice truck that's made-to-order by extremely good-looking "juice boys"? FOR. THE. WIN. Psst..."BeetBox" with Cayenne. You're welcome.
What west side trip is complete without a stop at Planet Blue on Main Street? Went in with a mission and finally got the amazeballs striped  tank dress I've been lusting over since I wrote about it last month in "striped out". It is everything I imagined. Soft, stretchy and basically the perfect day dress. Now if only they made it in seven other colors my spring/summer wardrobe, err uniform, would be complete.
