"MO&Co. heads for a spring awakening with it’s newest collection, showcasing warm weather versions of wardrobe staples on the back of fashion’s queen of cool, Freja Beha. The latest campaign is all about a borrowed from the boys sensibility with logo t-shirts, leather jackets and combat boots mixed with lace and floral patterns for a touch of femininity. Karim Sadli shoots the black and white images which captures the campaign’s message perfectly." (models.com) Could not have said it better myself. I could seriously have this video projected onto my bedroom wall playing continuously for the next three months, and the pictures?! Might already be hanging above my desk. Let's just say I'll be pulling major inspo from this campaign for the next, oh I don't know, ten years or so.
My heart goes out to those braving the snow, slush and gloomy NY weather for fashion week while I watch live stream shows from underneath my duvet. Although I've never really been one to discuss shows on here (YOLO,) I knew I had to after my instagram feed was clogged with amazing Wildfox show pics. Inspired by Jane Austen, "Sense & Eccentricity" was all creamy daydream colors, union jack pride and bedheaded beauts, wrapped in the standard Wildfox slouchiness I love. Also on tap...denim jackets and china print pajamas. A closet full of Wildfox never looked so good.
I'm a mind reader. Ok maybe I'm not, but I do know what you're thinking. Leather..in June? Well YEAH if you want the most amazeballs custom jacket come actual leather weather! LMX, aka bomb dot com babe Sarah Lemieux, creates hand painted vintage leather jackets, "baring the scars of their time, and adorned with imagery perhaps most inspired through the Lessons of Don Juan." Hands down the radest pieces I've ever seen. Instead of having a "B*tch stole my look!" moment on the leather-clad streets in October, custom is really the only option. Rather pretend summer lasts forever? I GOT YOU. Get your hands on one of LMX's trippy silk scarves, soon to be available on Nastygal (yay!!), perfect with a Canadian tux or go crazy and wrap it around like a halter top. Did I mention every piece comes with a lifetime warranty with free retouching for as long as Sarah lives? You're welcome.
This scarf though!!

I've been on the hunt for a cool-girl panama hat that doesn't look like a flying saucer on my head for a few months now. So when I saw this hat sitting in a stack on a shelf above ten dollar bikinis in H&M I just about started clapping. Shorter brim (no UFO head-effect), black on black, not an ounce of flop and comes in a size that fits perfectly (xs/s). I had found the hat! The shopping gods were on my side...AND only 18 dollars?! Definitely my new favorite and may have become a daily staple...maybe not Levi's jacket status but still. Don't say I didn't warn you when it starts making an appearance in every post. Hats off to you H&M, you give good hat.
Monday I paired my new hat with an awesome 100% organic cotton tank top
by Groceries from Planet Blue and of course Rag & Bone denim cutoffs.
Do you have a favorite hat?? Do you even wear hats?
My fun editorial for Cake Magazine is finally out! Ran around the streets of Venice with awesome photographer Emman Montalvan one overcast afternoon while we prayed for the rain to hold. Played on Abbot Kinney in a floral two piece and experienced my first food truck taco. Awesome styling by Monica De Castro and makeup by Tami K Shirley.
"C'mon Girl," is in Cake-Mag April 2013 issue "Love Visions"
available now (buy it to see the full spread here!)

A cali babe that models full time, takes online classes, drives a smart car, has a pet snake AND makes amazing custom enameled jewelry? Major girl crushing on Krystall Schott with Photogenics. Oh and did I mention she's only 17? Last week I tagged along on her trip to Kit Kraft art supply store in the valley for some adventuring and pictures. Models are more than just a pretty picture so here's the pics AND interview! As always full pictures on my photo blog.

Wearing Cry Baby Presents top
Krystall brought an awesome assortment of clothes for our adventure like a pair of vintage blue Italian oxfords and a handmade maroon skirt with real gold accents handmade in India...
R: Describe your personal style
K: I don't take style too seriously. I always dress a little bit off the wall and have fun with it. Right now I really like pieces from other cultures.
Can you tell it was 120 degrees?

I met Krystall while shooting an intense day-long editorial in death valley almost two years ago. 5 am call time, five hour drive out to the desert, middle of summer, 120 degrees and makeup meltdowns. But hey, we definetley got the shot!
R: Remember that desert shoot?
K: Yeah...that was a really interesting day. (Laughing) It was way too hot and miserable but I'm glad we were working with awesome people. That made it pretty fun!

Modeling gives girls such a unique life experience and exposure to so many different people, places and cultures so I always love hearing about future plans. Gotta love a girl with beauty and brains.
R: Plans after modeling?
K: I'm still working on my plans but at the moment I know I'm going to get some kind of degree. I'm just not sure whether it will be math/science or art or business..or perhaps all of them?! Maybe I'll be some kind of artistic engineer?
Krystall & Fred the snake on her agencies instagram @photogenicsla
R: Tell me about your pet snake!
K: Ah yes, Fred. Well Fred is a Kenyan Sand Boa and she is Female. A lot people say they are afraid of snakes but then I show them her and they think she is cute, so I think it's safe to say she's pretty cute (small and fat, 16 inches long). I like to take her with me places, she has her own little travel box. She is very very docile and friendly.

Check out (buy buy buy) Krystall's jewlery here!
R: Car jams?
K: I listen to everything. I'm really into old rock and roll (The Doors, Cream, Pink Floyd, Johnny Cash, etc. and Jack White which is not old but lets count him too) but I have CD's with just about every genre.
R: Got a motto? Words to live by?
K: Do everything you love, be yourself and you will be unique. That along with treating people right is really all that matters in life. Oh and if you ever get bored do something random(dancing is good).
Flower crowns/wreaths/headbands/whatever have been done and overdone like last week's dinner. I swore I was going to kill if I saw anymore...then this wonderful gift to mankind happened. Paris Vogue: you did the damn thing. And it's actually spectacular. They took the hippie, Coachella staple, shot it super simply in-studio and made it look all kinds of bad ass in the March 2013 issue. Paired with a fresh face and THE MOST amazing hair (new inspo!!!), I can safely say...I'm Rima Vaidila and I approve this image. You're welcome.

Watched a brilliant, diary-style documentary, "Picture Me", that gives the real story from a model's perspective. I can't recommend it enough to current and aspiring models, as well as anyone enchanted by the "glamorous" model life.
watch it here
"A raw and personal video diary, charts model Sara Ziff's rise from fresh face to one that adorns billboards and magazines around the world. Ziff and filmmaker, Ole Schell, co-direct the documentary, lifting the veil on the glamorous world of high fashion modeling, from photo shoots with celebrated photographers to runway shows in New York, Milan, and Paris." -Amazon.com
Ran around with my cutie sister, a disposable camera and that sunset light. Got the prints back. This might be one of my favorite photos, ever. You can't even tell she was mad about being blinded. Lots more on my photo blog. Hope everyone has a great long weekend!
