vacation
Had so much fun running around the desert last weekend (coachellaaaaa) and taking over the Line & Dot insta! Before I start bombarding you with desert recap pics, here's an outfit from a few weeks back. I fell in love with this deep scoop dress from Reformation, it's the perfect day to night piece. I was obviously very into the Coachella spirit and topped the dress off with a panama hat, denim jacket and mules for maximum palm springs babe vibes. I apologize in advance as I'll definitely be an outfit repeat offender with this dress. It's THAT good.

I do not want to start the Spring semester on Monday. I repeat. DO. NOT. So instead of focusing on the ridiculous amount of stress and tears sure to come, here are some pics from my adventures over the past week in LA. Lots of coffee, not a lot of sleep, crazy beautiful sunsets, a sweet new lil haircut, brunch on brunch on brunch, photo shoots and variations on the same outfit five days in a row. Not mad at my first week of 2014.

outfit posts from the week coming soon
Just got back from spending the weekend in Miami, sorry I've been MIA (pun intended) on the posting. Stayed in a killer suite at the W South Beach with my little mini-me sister babe, Adria. Ran around South Beach, caught a few rays and ate the best avocados of my life. It was the perfect way to celebrate the end of another intense semester. More photos up soon.

Summer is quickly racing by. Did you do everything you wanted? Learn to skateboard, stay up late, don't brush your hair, roll around in the sand, jump on beds, go on adventures, laugh, eat ice pops and do what makes you happy. Remember a few months back when you said "I can't till summer to *insert something fun here*?" Well go do it. Here's what is inspiring the rest of my summer days...all sunshine, sneakers and not a care in the world.

My favorite Levi's denim jacket again?? I'm obsessed, okay. Sorry I'm not sorry. This weekend required a look that was a little more than jeans and tee combo for my little brother's graduation ceremony so I opted for a take on one of my favorite looks (seen previously here.) A white Equipment blouse and faux leather mini skirt from ZARA gets a dose of casual cool with my Levi's jacket (also here) thrown on top. Pushed the sleeves up on both the blouse and jacket as per usual. I've also become quite obsessed with my delicate gold sale-section score necklace from Urban Outfitters (five bucks what?!), even though I've been swearing up and down "I'm not a gold girl." Sprayed some dry shampoo at my roots for volume and quickly ran a straightening iron through my hair to get the bedhead look. As far as makeup goes I did the usual routine: a touch of Bobbi Brown foundation stick, lip balm and a few swipes of mascara. Hope everyone had an amazing weekend and shout out to my awesome little brother for graduating!

Dungarees, "DOPE" snapbacks, spiked everything and an overdose of hair chalk. Yup sounds about right as far as this year's "festival fashion" goes. Of course there will be the crop tops, cut offs, flower crowns (read my thoughts on those things here) and fringe on everything from boots to bras as per usual. So how does a cool girl stand out in a mob of tanned chicks in tribal prints?? Don't worry...I GOT YOU.

What? No crochet, tie dye or hair accessories? Blasphemy! Hey, I said I'd help you stand out not blend in with the plebs. I call this "coacHELLA cool girl." Not really one for neon but I'm totally diggin this little bralette and cool melon sunnies...that and I don't think the desert is the place for my inner goth chick. Take a spin on the festival staple cutoffs with these rad olive green Rag & Bone shorties , double cool points for going up a few sizes and wearing them super low with a shoe lace as a belt. A pair of classic high tops will let you run from stage to stage without breaking a sweat. Top it off with a white cropped tank and you have a festival look that is equal parts desert-street (yeah I made that up) and cool. "Um excuse me...I AM the band."
I love LA...Downtown is rad, West Hollywood is fun, Mid-City has good shopping but there's just something about the west side that makes me feel at home. Maybe it's the chill, laid-back vibe or the fact that the beach is walking distance...but that's what everyone says. Who am I kidding...I love the west side because I could unapologetic-ally rock that crochet halter my grandmother made me when I was six (pictures when I get the guts to do it.) This past week I spent a lot of time on the west side, especially on Abbot Kinney. Mainly chasing down my latest obsession, JuiceBoxWhat?! A food  juice truck that's made-to-order by extremely good-looking "juice boys"? FOR. THE. WIN. Psst..."BeetBox" with Cayenne. You're welcome.
What west side trip is complete without a stop at Planet Blue on Main Street? Went in with a mission and finally got the amazeballs striped  tank dress I've been lusting over since I wrote about it last month in "striped out". It is everything I imagined. Soft, stretchy and basically the perfect day dress. Now if only they made it in seven other colors my spring/summer wardrobe, err uniform, would be complete.

So I went to Palm Springs for a mini vacation this past weekend! This was my first time in the desert excluding work shoots and Coachella so I was pretty pumped. Stayed at The Ace Hotel & Swim Club, ran around town for a minute (thought I was going to die of heat stroke) then had dinner at Citron at The Viceroy Hotel (scallops. you're welcome) the first night. Ordered room service for breakfast the next morning (homemade granola & yogurt is amazeballs) then hung at the pool (I don't think I've seen so many tattoos in one place outside of Silver Lake) and then had dinner at Mister Parker's at The Parker Hotel (coolest hotel ever?!)
