Opening a package to find a pair of beautiful blue jeans brought tears of joy to my eyes. Ok, so maybe there weren't any tears but I swear...angels were singing and light beamed down onto my new pair of Mavi Gold jeans. The perfect true "blue-jean" color, beautiful contrast stitching with amazeballs xfit lycra stretch. The perfect stretchy skinny. In case you haven't noticed, I've been really diggin' the heels n jeans combo lately (exhibit a & exhibit b) so, surprise! I'm wearing my favorite black pumps. Topped it with an oversized chiffon button up for the perfect cool girl look.
Although this weekend was hot as H-E-double hockey sticks I dressed in black, shocker. Paired my favorite O.G Guns n Roses tee with a suede leather skirt from LF (previously seen here) and Steve Madden lace up ankle booties. I cinched the tee at my waist to give it some shape and layered a turquoise eagle necklace on top. Pulled my hair up because I'm not about that sweaty-bangs-plastered-to-forehead life.
"Need" doesn't even come close to describing my complete obsession with everything Reformation right now. Perfectly cut tee dresses, rompers and two pieces all in fresh print combos. Doesn't hurt that they're all modeled by super babe Christy. *insert a million heart eye emojis here* Grab a couple wardrobe staples in stores (NYC/LA) or online now!
Rima Vaidila in a Canadian tuxedo? Woah, that's CRAZY. Ok...so maybe that's not so crazy considering the fact that I live in denim is common knowledge at this point. I'm wearing a few of my closet favorites in this look; my trusty Levi's jacket, Cheap Monday high waisted skinnies and Guess stilettos. Threw in a couple new pieces like this perfect black sleeveless turtleneck I thrifted and a pair of oversized tortoise sunnies from Urban Outfitters. Totally obsessed with the top. It's the perfect base layer for all seasons and looks sexy and classic on it's own. Yeah I realize this isn't a summer look but hey...I already admitted I do not understand how to dress for this season and I'm sticking to my story.
What's a slightly sporty-undercover goth to do when it comes to pool attire? Tiny, black and neoprene of course. Australian bikini brand, Triangl, just gets it. Seamless itty bitty bikinis with perfectly cut cheeky bottoms that completely avoid *ahem* coverage issues a-la Kate Upton's first SI cover. A little sporty and a little bad ass, these 'kinis keep it 100. Sold in a set for 79 dollars, Triangl bikinis come in neutrals (my picks) and the cutest bright colors and prints. Bonus? The bottoms lay flat so you can pull on a pair of shorts and not have to worry about dealing with that awkward side tie bulge. Excuse me while I go buy five.
I literally do not understand how to dress for summer. Black? Leather? I'll admit this is not the best look for 85+ temperatures but sans LJ (first seen here); the cutoffs, bralette and sheer oversized blouse are pretty much on point for summer...(right??) Since I'm all about thrift shopping these days, my blouse is lightweight 100 % silk and cost me all of 2.99. Refusing to pay forty bucks for cutoffs I also bought a pair of mom-jean Levi's and TA-DAH! Authentic vintage cutoffs for seven bucks. I'm also wearing a super cute little corset-style bralette from Brandy Melville and my trusty Vans, of course. I apologize in advance for my complete lack of enthusiasm for *valley girl voice* summerrrrr. Honestly, can it just be cold again so people don't think I'm some weird goth chick? Thanks.
Cause what leather-clad goth chick doesn't like hangin' in a dugout?
Kinda really loved my last athletic inspired look, "sporty spice," that I pulled out the jeans and nikes yet again. This time I paired my Cheap Monday skinnies with one of my favorite sweaters from Brandy Melville. So I'll admit I felt a little hood wearing a snap back...but realized turning it backwards makes it all kinds of cool girl instead of Compton homie, ya feel me?
More denim?!? Soooo crazy. Well what am I to do when super cute little online shop, Haute Miss, sends me the perfect denim shirt dress?! Light weight and light washed, excuse me while I live in this all summer. On Saturday I wore the dress under my Levi's jacket, vans and, of course, topped it off with my favorite hat. Since I'm all about variations on a theme...this dress works perfectly into my Canadian tuxedo wardrobe staples. Already excited to wear this dress come fall...works as the perfect layer over tights and under a cool baggy sweater.
